Women deserve dignity and safety in sports, locker rooms, prisons, and shelters.

When anyone can self-identify into women-only spaces, these spaces are no longer single-sex.

Trans-identified people must have civil rights, such as protection from housing and employment discrimination, but these rights need not come at a cost to women’s safety and dignity.

We are women - Liberal, Moderate, and Conservative - who believe that sex still matters in the daily lives of women and girls.

Along with the welcome advances in civil rights for transgender Americans, there are unintended consequences emerging where the lives of women and girls intersect with those born male who now identify as women. Some of the consequences can be seen as minor, and easily resolved, while there are others that are proving to be outright dangerous, and that need significant and immediate interventions.

We, as a society, need to be able to have a serious discussion about these issues, and we need to find equitable solutions that respect the safety, privacy, and dignity of ALL parties involved.

We encourage you to explore our site and discover the areas where sex matters, and to share this information with others.
